Our Story
In 1999, Bishop Wallace E. Smith answered the divine call to establish the New Covenant Christian Fellowship Church in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. As the founding pastor, he faithfully shepherded this non-denominational, multicultural congregation until the year 2020.
Pastor Theresa T. Smith is a dedicated servant of God, leading The New Covenant congregation with passion, wisdom, and grace. Pastor Smith envisions a church where unconditional love, faith, and hope thrive. Her mission is to guide and nurture the congregation, while helping each member discover his/her unique path in God's plan.

Pastor Smith envisions a church where unconditional love, faith, and hope thrive. Her mission is to guide and nurture the congregation, while helping each member discover his/her unique path in God's plan.
Teaching and Leadership:
With a profound understanding of scripture and a heart for teaching, Pastor Smith delivers sermons that resonate with both newcomers and long-time members. She leads by example, fostering an atmosphere of reverence and worship.
Community Involvement:
Beyond the pulpit, Pastor Smith actively engages within the community, partnering with local organizations to make a positive impact within the community. She is the founder of Beyond Morning Worship, a non profit organization committed to addressing the socio-economicdisparities that plague the economically depressed. She believes in the transformative power of faith in action.
Personal Journey:
Pastor Smith's personal journey is one of overcoming life’s challenges and embracing the joy of knowing and walking with the Lord . She has the heart of a worshipper and a never endingpursuit for God. She shares her experiences to connect with individuals seeking inspiration and guidance.

Our Founders Story
In loving memory of a remarkable leader, Bishop Wallace E. Smith, affectionately referred to as Bishop Bub, whose journey from his birth on June 16, 1947, to his heavenly rest on October 31, 2020, is a testament to unwavering faith and dedication.
In 1999, guided by the Lord, Bishop Smith answered the divine call to establish the New Covenant Christian Fellowship Church in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. As the founding pastor, he faithfully shepherded this non-denominational, multicultural congregation until the year 2020.
Beyond the pulpit, Bishop Bub was actively engaged in a variety of civic and cultural organizations. He was a friend to mayors, judges, attorneys, police chiefs, and the disenfranchised, working tirelessly to bridge gaps within the community. His deep love for people and unwavering belief in extending a lifeline to those in need, regardless of demographics, defined his life's mission.
Bishop Bub's life is a shining example of faith, leadership, and unwavering dedication to his calling. His legacy continues to inspire us all, and his memory remains a guiding light for the New Covenant Christian Fellowship Church and beyond.
